► Better University Forum
Welcome to the Better University Forum
The Liverpool Students' Union Better University Forum is a monthly opportunity to improve education at LJMU. It's an informal group meeting of students that discusses the good parts and bad parts of learning at LJMU, and tries to make sure we copy what works and solve what doesn't. Any student can attend and take part in changing what they care about.
The Forum is supported by our Vice President (Academic Quality) Jemma Blease-Dudley and makes a real difference to education: look at just some of our impact so far.
The Better University Forum has already helped students to discuss what they want to see, including:
• better and more accessible coursework and exam feedback
• universally high quality teaching standards
• mandatory use of Blackboard by teaching staff
In 2010, the Better University Forum plan is:
28 January 2010: The first meeting of the year is looking at feedback. Liverpool Students' Union is responding to students that wanted to know how they can get better feedback on their coursework and exams and we're meeting with senior staff in the University on 5 Februrary 2010; we need examples of what you consider to be good, and bad, examples of feedback. Find out more here, and bring examples of your feedback to the meeting.

11 February 2010: The second meeting of the year is looking at the plans for development over the next few years from Library and Student Support Services. They are suggesting that they focus on four key areas that they think will improve the student experience and we've asked them to come to the Better University Forum so we can tell them if they're right!

11 March 2010: This meeting will be in the week before the Liverpool Students' Union elections, so we'll be talking about the future of campaigning for a better LJMU and how we find out what students think are the priorities for change. We'll also be asking all of the candidates who are standing for the position of Vice President (Academic Quality) to attend and introduce themselves to you.
