Purpose & Objectives of LSU
Liverpool Students' Union (LSU) is the independent body representing students at Liverpool John Moores University working to ensure you get the most out of your time a university by providing you with a range of opportunities and working alongside the university, representing the student voice to continually improve the student experience.
Charitable Objectives
The advancement of the education, social and societal development of students at Liverpool John Moores University.
Vision
Everything we do is about students and as such we rely on our members getting involved; we need LJMU students to make us happen. From the student staff involved in delivering our retail, bar and catering services, to those joining our student groups, and those elected as your representatives, it is students who make us what we are. If every single LJMU student engaged and participated in what we offer we would be one of the most successful student union organisations around.
Values
LSU seeks to achieve progress for its members in the following areas:
Student Activities – student participation in clubs and societies, events that promote student interests, services responsive to students’ needs and a year round engaging democracy that engages and inspires change.
Academic Quality – ensuring a strong and active learner voce, responsive University systems and improved rights for all students including those on placements from Liverpool John Moores.
Community Engagement – students active in their local area as engaged citizens living in safe, secure and affordable accommodation and in dialogue with Liverpool City Council and local civil society.
